Gary M. Kunath

Gary M. Kunath is the President and CEO of The Summit Group, a recognized thought leader that provides high end sales training and development in the areas of value creation, strategic business alignment, collaborative planning with customers, business acumen, executive engagement, leveraging enterprise assets into the deal and enterprise offer development.
He regularly lectured in the Executive Education and MBA Programs of Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, Emory University Business School and at Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management. He is a contributing author of two books, “Unlocking Profits” and “The Trust Imperative”. His company was featured in Selling Power magazine as one of the top thought leaders in the world in the area of value creation and value transformation. The Summit Groups’ Value creation process received “Innovative Practice of the Year” by 3M worldwide. Clients include SBC, P&G, Kimberly Clark, SC Johnson, MARRIOTT, Delta Air Lines, GSA, USPS, Lockheed, Carlson, HP, Siemens, American Express, Motorola, Kellogg’s, Purolator, Canada Post and Cisco to name a few.
Mr. Kunath served as a faculty member of the executive development programs of such companies as MARRIOTT International, P&G, Lockheed, and BellSouth. He serves on the board of Trustees for Utica College of Syracuse University. He was recently named Businessman of the Year for 2004 and was formally recognized for this achievement at a dinner hosted President George W. Bush. He was selected by US government to be part of a four person faculty team from Harvard, Stanford and the London School of Economics to work directly with President Mubarak of Egypt and the business leaders to increase Egypt’s global competitiveness.
Mr. Kunath also is an owner of several professional minor league baseball teams. His partners include Jimmy Buffet, Bill Murray and Mike Veeck.
Mr. Kunath holds an MS degree in Organizational Development from the State University of New York at Binghamton, a BS degree in Business Administration/Marketing from Syracuse University and an A.A.S. in Business Management from Mohawk Valley Community College. He is also an August 1990 graduate of Duke University's Executive Development Program.
